Human Resource Specialist - Classification
compensation: $50.00 per hour or Negotiable
Provide independent advice and consultation to resolve complex human resource issues. Review organization charts, mission/function statements, charters, memorandum of agreements, predecessor position descriptions, and other related materials to establish accurate classification determinations; provide support in structuring work to accomplish the organization's mission; assist in determining position relevancy and skill sets needed to perform the work; form, group and assign duties and responsibilities among positions and align positions into organizational structure. Conduct studies of various occupations, organizational reviews, position reviews and audits; develop new and/or re-described position descriptions and evaluation statements; advise managers on classification principles; conduct fact finding and desk audits when applicable and assist HR specialists and managers in conduction externally directed classification reviews and studies as needed. Advise managers on merit principles, recruitment sources, affirmative recruitment and various staffing methods available for selecting qualified candidates. Audit completed actions, close/retire case files as required by applicable regulations; manage various staffing programs and recommend process improvements. Department of Navy experience preferred, Department of Defense acceptable.
